Audrey Bate founded Cosy Organic in 2021 with a clear mission: to create timeless, traditional English designs using 100% natural materials. Her journey into organic and sustainable textiles began on a deeply personal note, when her daughter developed severe eczema. Determined to find solution, Audrey began experimenting with natural fabrics such as organic cotton and linen, carefully designing pieces that would be soft, breathable, and comfortable against sensitive skin. For Audrey, fabric choice is at the heart of every design. As she explains,
“Children wear clothes completely differently to adults, so it is essential that the fabrics we use for Cosy Organic designs are breathable, durable, and entirely free from the harmful chemicals often found in synthetic dyes.”
Her passion for 100% organic materials continues to shape Cosy Organic today. Audrey is a strong advocate for transparency and education, believing it is important for people to understand what they put next to their skin, especially when it comes to their children.

Audrey sources her linen directly from Libeco, a fifth-generation Belgian family business renowned for its exceptional quality and heritage in linen weaving.
The colours seen throughout Audrey’s designs are created using only plant-based materials, through a traditional process known as plant dyeing. This gentle and time-honoured technique produces beautifully rich tones while remaining entirely natural.
From the very beginning, Audrey’s mission has been to create pieces with vibrant colour that are kind to the skin and work in harmony with the environment.
As interest in her designs grew, she went on to develop her own clothing collection, with a commitment to transparency and a focus on British manufacturing. Each garment is made in Britian using natural materials and expertly crafted by skilled artisans, resulting in pieces that are unique and timeless.
Her work reflects a belief that luxury and nature can coexist.
